A man feels lonely tonight.

As he goes for a walk by the river side, thinking about his life and all his problems he suddenly feels struck by something he hadn't seen before. Nothing coming from the exterior, though. It's an inner explosion that gets him down on his knees.

He can't help taking his sight of the full moon as his body is slowly changing.
The next moment he will unconsciencly satisfy his desire for fresh juicy flesh.

You can run but you can't hide. He is a Werewolf.

Lobisomem (in english, werewolf)

I still remember in my childhood when I saw an old movie called "The Wolf Man". There are also the old stories that tell us about this mystical creature that is so simple but can be really frightening. Still today I have a strange feeling, everytime I shut down the lights before I climb the stairs up, that I have a dark werewolf right behind me, coming after me from the deep darkness. I always try to ignore the sensation, but it keeps coming every time.
I've learned to respect this creature even knowing it doesn't exists.

There are lots of articles on this subject. I personally recommend this one ([link]) on Wikipedia if your curious.

About the photo, it was taken with my digital compact while I was making some experiments with long exposures with the other camera. It was a full-moon night and the light reflecting on the Douro river was beautiful. I got this composition when my brother was sitting by the river and I thought I might ast him to be my model. And he did quite a job, I guess.
It's a 2 seconds exposure at ISO 200. No post-processing whatsoever. Just uploaded after framing it.

Hope you like this piece ;)

I'm very pleased you like it as a piece of art ;)

This is a strong picture... Somehow I don't relate to the werewolf story but one can find a lot of reason to get on his knees and shout at the sky or the moon! :)

True. It lacks some claws and fur to make it realistically a werewolf. However, this was not a setup shot. And the story I made up... well, there were hundreds of stories I could tell in here, but the environment was so dark I thought this might be the best :)

Thanks for commenting ;)

Bem me pareceu ;p
